Tantra is often referred to as sacred sexuality because it believes that the sacred union of two spiritual beings, bringing together the masculine and feminine principles in flesh, is the paramount display of love, the prime crucible for healing relationships, and the ultimate high union with the Divine.

So we accept and act on the basic principle that sex is sacred. Why?

Sex is sacred because it is a natural part of who you are and from where you came.

Sex is sacred because each of you is a divine being. Since your body is a divine gift, your physical pleasure is too.

Sex is sacred when you approach it with consciousness and respect as a spiritual path to discover more of your true nature.

By expressing your sexual nature, you are expressing your sacred self. Being your sexual self is a way of honoring your divine connection. Sharing your sexual self with another is a way of honoring their divine nature as well as yours. All of life and all of sex is approached with a sense of awe and wonder.

Through Tantra Practice, you can learn to accept your sexuality openly and honestly as the divine gift it is. Tantra promotes the feelings and thoughts and techniques to release the stuck energies from the past, from cultural, familial and religious inhibitions through our energy centers, or chakras.
